FILMYLOG COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Effective date: 10/08/2026, Version: 1.0.0

Filmylog is a professional network for people who work in film, television, OTT, advertising, radio, theatre, events, and fashion. It works when people can trust what they see here: that a profile is a real person, that a credit is real work, that a job is a real opportunity.
These Guidelines set out what is expected of you and what is not allowed. They form part of our Terms of Service, so breaking them is breaking your agreement with us.
They apply everywhere on Filmylog: your profile, credits, portfolio, posts, comments, messages, job listings, requirements, and requirement responses.

Be who you say you are
Use your real name and a real photo. A profile photo showing a real face, or a real logo for a company, is required.
Do not impersonate another person, company, production house, agency, or brand. Do not create a profile that suggests you represent someone you do not represent.
Do not create an account for anyone under 18, and do not run an account that works as the profile of someone under 18, even if it is registered in an adult's name. Filmylog is for adults.
Do not create a second account to get around a block, a suspension, or content we have removed.

Keep your credits honest
Your credits are your professional record, and other people will make decisions based on them.
List work you actually did, in the role you actually held. Do not claim a project you were not part of. Do not inflate a role. Do not list a credit that belongs to someone else.
Credits on Filmylog are entered by users and are not verified by us. If you believe someone has listed a credit falsely, report the profile or write to our Grievance Officer. We may remove a false credit and act on an account that repeats this.

Post work you have the right to post
Upload only material you own or have permission to share.
This matters more in our industry than most. Do not upload unreleased footage, confidential scripts, stills, or behind-the-scenes material you are contractually barred from sharing. A non-disclosure agreement or a production contract does not stop applying because the material is going on a professional profile.
Do not post other people's work as your own. Do not post material featuring other people where you need their permission and do not have it.
If you believe your work has been posted here without your permission, contact our Grievance Officer with the details and we will act on it.

What you must not post
Do not post, share, or send anything that:
Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit.
Sexualises a child in any way, or is harmful to a child. We remove this immediately, permanently ban the account, and report it to the authorities.
Harasses, bullies, threatens, or intimidates anyone, or encourages others to do so.
Attacks or demeans a person or group on the basis of religion, caste, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any similar ground.
Threatens or glorifies violence, or promotes a terrorist or extremist organisation.
Is defamatory, or makes false accusations about an identifiable person.
Invades someone's privacy, including posting a person's phone number, address, identification documents, or other private information without their permission.
Shares intimate images of a person without their consent, including edited or synthetic images. We treat this as one of the most serious breaches on the platform.
Encourages self-harm or suicide.
Is unlawful under Indian law, or infringes anyone's intellectual property.
Is deliberately false and likely to cause harm.

Jobs: the rules that matter most
Casting and crewing is where people are most exposed, so these rules are strict, and we enforce them without warning.

Never ask an applicant for money. Not for applying, not for being shortlisted, not for being cast, not for registration, not for a security deposit, not for training, not for photos or a portfolio, not for anything. There is no version of this that is acceptable on Filmylog. An account that does this will be removed.

Post only real opportunities. The role, the project, the pay, the location, the dates, and the deadline must be accurate. If a role is unpaid or the pay is not yet confirmed, say so plainly. Do not post a job to collect profiles, contact details, or portfolio material with no real opportunity behind it.

Never ask for nude, sexually suggestive, or intimate material in a job listing, a requirement, or a message. Do not require a private meeting in a hotel room, a residence, or any unprofessional setting as a condition of being considered. A legitimate audition does not work this way.

Do not discriminate. Where a role genuinely calls for a specific attribute for a creative reason, state it plainly and honestly. Do not use a role description to exclude people on grounds unrelated to the work.

Respect what applicants send you. A requirement response, an audition tape, a performed script, or shared portfolio work belongs to the person who made it. Use it only to assess that application. Do not publish it, share it outside your hiring process, use it in any production or promotion, or keep it once your process is over. If you want to use someone's submission for anything else, ask them and get their permission.

Do not misuse applicant information. The contact details and profiles you see through applications are for that hiring process, not for building a list.

If you are applying
Be accurate about your credits and your experience.
Applying means you are willing to be accepted, and acceptance happens in one step. Apply where you mean it.
If you need to withdraw, do it through the app and tell the hirer. People plan around you.

Messages
Message people about work, collaboration, and things they would reasonably want to hear about.
Do not send bulk or repeated unwanted messages. Do not advertise unrelated goods or services. Do not use messages, comments, or requirement fields to promote schemes, courses, or paid services that have nothing to do with the opportunity.
If someone does not reply, leave it. If someone asks you to stop, stop.

Invitations and contacts
Invite people you actually know. Do not invite from a list you bought, scraped, or took from a group you administer without those people knowing.
When you invite someone, we send your invitation link on your behalf, and it carries your name. Treat that as your own message.

Do not game the platform
Do not use bots, scripts, or automation on Filmylog.
Do not buy, sell, or artificially inflate applause, spotlights, follows, connections, bookmarks, or applications.
Do not scrape, harvest, or copy other users' data by automated means, or build a database from the platform.
Do not buy or sell Filmylog accounts.

Reporting, and what happens next
You can report a post, a job, or a profile from the menu on it. Reporting changes what you see straight away, and the report comes to us for review.
You can also block anyone. Blocking hides you from each other and ends the connections between you.

When something is reported to us, we look at it against these Guidelines. Depending on what we find and how serious it is, we may leave it, remove the content, restrict a feature, suspend the account, or remove the account permanently.
For the most serious breaches, particularly anything involving a child, non-consensual intimate images, threats of violence, or taking money from applicants, we remove the account immediately and permanently, and we report to the authorities where the law requires it.
We aim to tell you if we act on your content and why, unless we are prevented from doing so or telling you would put someone at risk.
If you believe we have got a decision wrong, write to our Grievance Officer.

If something has gone wrong for you
If you have been asked for money, pressured for inappropriate material, threatened, or harassed on Filmylog, report it to us. Contact our Grievance Officer at hello@filmylog.com with as much detail as you can.
If you are in immediate danger, contact the police on 112.

Changes
We may update these Guidelines as the platform grows and as we learn. Where a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email. Each version carries a version number and an effective date.
